How to Develop Deveykus - Divine Inspiration
There are three main components to the development of Deveykus – Divine Inspiration, namely self development, theory, and practice. These all have equal importance.
Part 1 - Self Development
The first component to developing Deveykus – Divine Inspiration is self development. Whilst we can teach the mechanics underlying Deveykus – Divine Inspiration, we must remember that Deveykus – Divine Inspiration is first and foremost a spiritual and sacred gift. The key to unfolding your gifts of Deveykus – Divine Inspiration is to create in yourself the right spiritual vessel for that energy to unfold in you.
Self-development practices are therefore vital and include meditation, prayer, study and dealing with any personal issues which may hold you back. We need to make ourselves a clear channel for Spirit – Ruach, free of any mental or emotional baggage.
Meditation practices such as sitting in the silence to connect is the foundation of developing quality Deveykus – Divine Inspiration. Sitting in the silence to connect is about making ourselves available to the Spirit World and spending time in their presence.
Before accessing Deveykus – Divine Inspiration, we need to learn to relax and still the mind, heighten our senses, recognise our own soul nature, and move our mind to become aware of the Spirit. The regular practice of meditation, such as ‘sitting’ in this powerful state of consciousness is vital to achieving these goals. Practiced regularly and diligently makes a significant improvement to your rate of development. We have developed a CD titled Sitting in the Silence to Connect which teaches this practice and is available from our website.
You can also spend time learning about the meanings of colours and symbols and finding your own meanings so that Spirit is able to use them with you during your meditation to enable information to be given quickly. We have developed a CD called The Symbolism in Colours designed for you to explore your own meanings for colours as part of this self development process. Other self development practices include building your knowledge about the Spiritual World, Reincarnations,The Middah Keneged Midah Concept and associated subjects so that you recognise that you truly are free spirit here and now. The challenge then becomes learning to live from your Soul-spirit on a daily basis!
Part 2: Understanding the Theory
It is vital to understand the theory and the mechanics of Deveykus – Divine Inspiration before you start practising it. Most people want to launch straight into doing Deveykus – Divine Inspiration before they even understand what it is or how to do it and the results are usually disappointing. We wouldn’t jump straight into a car for the first time and try to drive it without understanding what each of the controls are and how they function as the results might be catastrophic! Deveykus – Divine Inspiration is no different. Before you start practising Deveykus – Divine Inspiration, you need to have a solid understanding of what it is, how it works and what you need to do to be able connect to and maintain a link with those in spirit world.
In my own experience, very few people teach the theory of Deveykus – Divine Inspiration to any great depth as most students want to spend their time on practice not theory. However this approach is very limiting and results in people ‘trying’ to practice Deveykus – Divine Inspiration with limited success as they lack the knowledge of what it is, how it works and how best to do it. In our teaching classes, we always start with this theory and students agree that the understanding it gives them makes it easier for them to practice Deveykus – Divine Inspiration and achieve better results.

Part 3 - Practice Practice Practice
Once you understand what Deveykus – Divine Inspiration is and how it works, the next step is to find somewhere to practice under the guidance of a good teacher. Like anything worthwhile, it takes a great deal of time, effort and practice to develop Deveykus – Divine Inspiration to a good standard. To become proficient at receiving Deveykus – Divine Inspiration it takes practice, practice and more practice!
So the first step is to find a group of friends or a local class where you can get the opportunity to practice. If you can not find such friends or classes in your area, why not become a member of Yeshivat Torat HaCheN and join our online practice groups, classes and workshops. You will find a warm safe place where like minded people join in unity, supporting their efforts to increase and strengthen their subline gifts. You can practice with a partner or with a group at your pace and time.
Otherwise you could consider doing an intensive week long course with one of our professional Kabbalist teachers. They have been taught and trained by Rabbi Yoseph Chaim Mimran, a well known Kabbalist who have written books on Kabbalah in Hebrew and in English.
Take as many opportunities to practice as you can. Don’t be in a rush to develop your Deveykus – Divine Inspiration quickly but give yourself time to allow your gifts to unfold at a steady pace. Remember, there is no such thing as instant results! For most people, it takes several years to develop and we are always developing.
We can only go so far with learning the theory of Deveykus – Divine Inspiration and attending classes, and courses to practice. The real key to unlocking your gifts is your own self and spiritual development. All three components should receive equal attention if we are to develop as a balanced gifted ba‘al Deveykus – Divine Inspiration.
It is a journey of continual unfoldment and development, as is life! Really all development is self development as it is a journey that has to be undertaken by you. Nobody else can do it for you. Developing Deveykus – Divine Inspiration is one of the most wonderful and fulfilling journeys there is. Take the time to explore it and most of all enjoy it!
